Problem

The client asked us for help with analysing and optimising the online store. We faced the challenge of taking over and operate an extensive platform that required immediate acceleration.

Action

We started our work with a thorough analysis of the current situation. We focused on accelerating the operation of the store. We wanted to make shopping more convenient, regardless of the number of users. In the next stages of cooperation, we dealt with changes regarding abandoned baskets.

Changes that allowed efficient sales

An effective way to increase your conversion

Abandoned carts are a common phenomenon in online stores. To increase the number of conversions, we decided to apply countermeasures. We decided on a modern solution operating in real-time – BONUS POPUP. Our method of saving the transaction is to detect the user’s willingness to exit the cart and automatic response. A specially created mechanism displays the customer a POPUP with information about the discount. The discount code is only redeemable for ongoing purchases. Thanks to this, the customer gains an additional reason to finalise the transaction.

The changes we have made

  • Speed analysis

    To accelerate the operation of the online store, we have analysed the speed of the platform. For this purpose, we used analysis tools, including Google Speed Insights. Then we implemented the changes recommended in the audit, including appropriate graphics format.

  • Filter change

    In our client’s store, we have implemented a non-standard filtering method – after occasions. The customers can determine what percentage of the discount they are interested in. The number of products corresponding to a given discount is also displayed next to the filtering options.

  • Easy contact with the customer

    Efficient contact with the customer is extremely important. In the e-lampy.pl store, we have added integration with FreshMail.

  • Cross-selling and up-selling

    We have implemented cross-selling and up-selling in the e-lampy.pl store. Hints on recommended light sources turned out to be a great help for customers. Suitable bulbs are selected and proposed for each lamp. This resulted in an increase in the shopping cart value and the buyers’ convenience. The user no longer has to search and read about bulbs matching a given lamp model.

Reliable and fast operation

E-lampy.pl is a store with a wide range of products. Such a large sales platform needs proper hosting. For this reason, we decided to transfer it to IDEAcloud. Reliable and fast-acting hosting, changing the solution to a more efficient one, significantly accelerated the operation of the e-store.

Advanced menu

We have introduced a new component in the online store, which allowed us to create an advanced menu. After clicking on a given category, a graphic submenu showing individual types of lamps is displayed. It makes it easier for customers to find interesting products.

Results

The changes we have introduced for e-lampy.pl contributed to the increased conversion. We have implemented a lot of non-standard, modern components that support sales and make the store more intuitive.
