Problem

We were faced with the challenge of improving the database infrastructure that enables handling high traffic on the website. A series of problems in the database led to performance degradation.

Action

In this project, we decided to optimise the operation of large e-commerce. We used Big Data tools to process and analyse data better. In the next stages, we focused on improving the attractiveness of the portal for the user.

Changes that allowed for efficient sales

Work on the e-commerce platform

Our client has been operating in the Polish e-commerce market for years. The continuous development and growth of the company resulted in the transition from a dedicated NET platform to Magento in 2014 in connection with the planned expansion to foreign markets. Besides, the integration of Złote Wyprzedaże with the Vente-Privee group required the expansion of many existing functions and the implementation of new, innovative solutions.

Improving the database infrastructure to handle high traffic on the website

A series of problems in the database led to a decline in its performance. We re-indexed it, which restored stability and shortened the access time to the data in the database. It brought measurable benefits for our client – quick indexation is the key in the case of short, several-day sales campaigns on which Złote Wyprzedaże is based.

  • Implementation of IDEAerp system

    As part of the activities, we implemented our IDEAerp system, operating in the SaaS model (Software as a Service). As a result, the client gained the opportunity to use the following modules: PIM – Product Information Management; B2B purchases; handling returns in the implemented ISO system; sales service; financial, accounting and human resources and the CAT Module (Computer Aided Translations). The last of the mentioned modules supports the translation of the campaign from the supplier (Ventee Privee) from French into Polish.

  • GPDR

    We have implemented changes in the store in line with the GDPR requirements.

  • Improvement security

    To strengthen security, we have implemented a multi-stage authentication mechanism for entrances from outside the office.

  • Elasticsearch implementation

    The implementation of Elasticsearch made it possible to collect, search and analyze large amounts of data about users. The applied tool significantly helped in the effective monitoring of individual elements.

A coherent and transparent image of the portal and UX optimisation

One of the main goals was to standardise the portal so that it fits stylistically to the profile of the parent company, Vente-Privee. We have increased the intuitiveness and transparency of the website, and we have combined it in terms of colours and functionalities. We have also improved the store in terms of RWD so that it is fully usable on both computers and mobile devices – we paid special attention to the smooth operation of the website on iPhone and iPad devices, from which most purchases come.

Implementation of the internal affiliate system “CARO”

In line with Vente Privee’s guidelines, we have prepared and integrated a system for creating managing, and monitoring affiliate campaigns. From the functional side, the core of the system is an advanced application for creating and managing campaigns in cooperation with partners. Besides, we have implemented a monitoring and statistics system that allows for active observation and reporting of the campaign.
